Paisley Peplum Top

I just tried out a new pattern from a new designer to make my twins cute peplum tops for this upcoming spring and summer. It's made from knit fabric and has a cute cutout in back. For those that don't like cutout backs, I'm pretty certain I could modify it to have a contrasting fabric filling the cutout spot in the back. I made it as a peplum top, but this pattern also has dress length if you wanted that instead. My twins just love it.

Do you notice the upside down horses in the skirt part in the back? Well, that's because I forgot I needed to have multiple pieces for the skirt when using a directional fabric and a circle skirt. Oops! It's a good thing my daughter doesn't mind at all.

So, is this something you'd like to have available for me to make for you? Let me know by commenting here or on my facebook page.

Behind the Scenes

Just wanted to share a little behind the scenes photo of what happens when I'm using a new pattern or new sizes to a previously used pattern.

Before I can even choose what fabric combo to use, I first have to put together a pattern if it's a new to use PDF, or at the very least trace the new sizes I want to use from a previously made pattern. This particular pattern I've used to make my twins dresses before, but have not used any other sizes. This morning was spent tracing sizes newborn to 3T. Now I get to cut out all those traced pieces before I can cute out fabric.

When I made these ones for my twins, I added some extra length, so they were a bit big then, but fit great now. These pictures were when I had finished them last year. I just love the classic look of a regular waist and a cute Peter pan collar.
